:: Brief Background of HRM
HRM Simmentals was founded in 1999 as a partnership between Howard, Rollie and Mike Henderson.  Located in the rolling hills of southwest Iowa, HRM has aggressively searched out breed leading Sim genetics.  As a family owned operation near the small, rural town of Wiota, Iowa, HRM has built a clear breeding plan to provide our customers with sound PRODUCTION attributes, leading PERFORMANCE traits and a desire to increase customer PROFITABILITY.


:: The Cow Herd
The cow herd at HRM Simmentals consists of 150 spring calving Simmental and Sim Angus females.  It is expected that each female within the HRM herd have the potential to raise the next quality herd sire for our commercial customers.  Managed in a commercial environment, each of the HRM females must calve easily, wean a heavy calf, rebreed annually and have a quiet disposition.  HRM has actively embraced the maternal heterosis that exists when two complimentary breeds are mated, building the foundation for our Sim Angus females.  We feel confident that upon your appraisal you will find moderate framed females that have outstanding udders and are easy keeping, productive cows.

Sire selection has also enhanced the value of the HRM females.  Currently three HRM herd sires are leased to ABS Global:  SRS Right On 22R, GLS Combination R2 and TNT Dual Focus T249.  All three of these sires have been proven in the American Simmental Association’s Carcass Merit Program, and progeny from all three sires have delivered outstanding customer satisfaction.  
 
:: HRM Marketing
As a founding member of the Iowa Beef Connection (IBC), HRM Simmentals markets all of its sire quality bull calves through the annual sale on the first Saturday of April.  With four other progressive Iowa Simmental breeders, the Iowa Beef Connection develops and markets quality, performance tested bulls that have complete performance, carcass and breeding soundness data. From a strong genetic base driven by balanced trait selection, to sire development that promotes structural soundness, longevity and fertility, the Iowa Beef Connection is a superior commercial genetic supplier.
